Absent in the last game of the Warriors, Klay Thompson again did not take part in the meeting of his team this Sunday, against the Jazz. And the worrying update made by Steve Kerr about his back sent some cold sweats to Golden State fans!
Since his long-awaited return, made against the Cavaliers two weeks ago, not everything has necessarily gone as planned for him and his team. Author of 6 appearances this season, Klay Thompson is struggling to regain his level and his address of yesteryear. At the same time, the Warriors have won only 2 of these 6 games, proof of the difficulties of adaptation of the franchise in this context.
Again in trouble against Indiana on Thursday, the Golden State star back was logically saved against the Rockets, 24 hours later. The opportunity for Steve Kerr to unveil his plans concerning him in the face of his galleys. Logic however wanted him to return to competition this Sunday, on the occasion of the reception of the Jazz. However, against all odds, it was without him that the Dubs had to do for this poster.
Knee alert for Klay Thompson
In the absence of Killa Klay, Steph Curry and his teammates struggled to overcome Utah to get a second consecutive victory (94-92). Before that, Kerr justified the unavailability of his shooter at a press conference, in remarks reported by Mark Haynes of ClutchPoints. And the latter did not really reassure the fans!

We just took stock and Klay was going to play, but Rick (Celebrini, Warriors doctor, editor’s note) came to me and said, “I think we should save Klay. I hadn’t even noticed that anything was wrong. Rick just told me it would be wiser to preserve it. He just has a little knee problem, so we’ll let him rest.
After this warning message on Klay’s knee, his coach was nevertheless optimistic about the following events concerning him.
It’s nothing to worry about. It just fits into our desire to be careful with him.
Barring any new bad surprise, Thompson should therefore indeed take part in the shock to come against the Mavericks on Tuesday. In the meantime, his partners have been able to do the job, which should make him smile!
The Warriors do not want to see Klay Thompson relapse in any way, and have therefore opted for a new rest against the Jazz. Even if it means creating a climate of fear within the Dub Nation for a few minutes!
