During the weekend of January 15 and 16, Corentin Mahey was in Andrézieux-Bouthéon (Loire) where, under the colors of the Roman dojo, he fought with the hope of winning a qualification for the French first division championships which will take place end of May, a priori near Strasbourg (Bas-Rhin).
“I competed under the colors of my training club, because the A2G could not present a team in view of the injuries we have. » A team from the Roman dojo with a certain Hugo Métifiot, who therefore finished AuRA vice-champion and won his qualification.
Corentin Mahey returned to Ardèche injured in his left hand, “it’s the scaphoid, I need 6 weeks off, it should pass” he smiles.
How does he see the competition in May? “It’s going to be top level, with all the big Parisian teams, but it allows you to see people, to compete, to gain confidence and experience, but I’m also aware that if I come across Teddy Riner (ten times world champion, editor’s note), I will not be able to bring him down! Says Mahey not without humor.
