This morning, health officials released three landmarks in the Wellington region, the Rotorua airport and a burger restaurant in Kerikeri.
None of the landmarks are considered high risk, but people are advised to self-monitor for symptoms for 10 days and if symptoms develop, get tested and stay home until they get a negative result.
The three attractions in the Wellington region are Synergy Hair in Queensgate between 4pm and 5pm on January 23, SuperValue at Cannons Creek in Porirua between 11:05am and 11:15am on January 24 , and the Preservatorium Cafe at Te Aro in downtown Wellington between 7:37 a.m. and 7:37 p.m. and 8.10 a.m. on January 25.
Anyone who has been to Rotorua Airport between 9:54am and 10am on January 27th and at Burger Fiasko in Kerikeri between 3:30pm and 4:00pm on January 27th should follow the guidelines of self control.
Health officials said yesterday that a number of Air NZ flights, Auckland airport’s domestic lounge and a Sikh temple in Hamilton were among the new high-risk locations.
People on a number of recent flights from destinations including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Nelson, as well as those at Auckland airport, should self-isolate and get tested for Covid immediately.
It also emerged that an Air NZ flight, NZ8273 from Kerikeri to Auckland, was carrying Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and Governor-General Dame Cindy Kiro, who are self-isolating after a flight attendant tested positive for Omicron.
A statement issued by the Prime Minister’s office shortly after 10pm last night said: “Whole genome sequencing has been requested for the case with a result expected on Sunday.
“The result is expected to indicate that the case has been infected with the Omicron variant and the public health response reflects this.
“All other passengers on board NZ8273 are also considered close contacts and must self-isolate, be tested immediately and remain in isolation for 10 days after their exposure.”
Ardern and Kiro were returning from Waitangi last Saturday after filming prerecorded speeches for Waitangi Day.
Joining yesterday’s list of fights was an Auckland educational organization and a ferry terminal as other new sights.
People on flights must self-isolate and get tested immediately for Covid.
That’s the same for people at the New Zealand Sikh Society’s Te Rapa Temple in Hamilton on January 22 between 10 am and 5 pm.
Anyone who has been to the downtown ferry terminal of Fullers Waiheke Island Ferry on Sunday between 1:10 pm and 1:45 pm and Learning Network NZ in Henderson on Thursday between 8:45 am and 1:00 pm, is also identified as close contact.
The Ministry of Health is asking anyone in these locations during the specified times to get tested and self-isolate immediately.
Anyone in this location on Saturday between 1 pm and 4 pm is considered a close contact.
Nelson Airport was also visited by a Covid case on January 18 and 23. However, people in place for the specified time are not required to self-isolate, but must self-monitor for symptoms.
