It is worth mentioning that this was the first time that the South American reached the third round in the Australian Open. Prior to his duel with Monfils, Garín defeated Facundo Bagnis and Pedro Martinez, in matches of more than 4 hours and a half each.

This year I have been improving my game, although I did not have the best preparation.
