Ciudad Juárez.- Municipal President Cruz Pérez Cuéllar threw the first ball in the opening game of the Indomables de Juárez team, who began their participation in the 2022 State Basketball League (LBE), at the Josué Neri Santos Municipal Gym.
“We welcome the visiting team and give all our support and backing to the Indomitables, I am very pleased that professional basketball is back in our city, it is in everyone’s interest that Juárez has more and more sporting events, because that permeates in our children and young people”, said the mayor.
After the protocol ceremony and the honors to the flag, the local singer Walterio Magdaleno sang the national anthem, then the player Walter Muñoz swore the oath to the sport and the presentation of the two teams was given.
In the presidium, the mayor was accompanied by Rubí Enríquez, president of the System for the Integral Development of the Family in the municipality of Juárez; Juan Ignacio Camargo Nassar, rector of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez; Juan Escalante, director of the Municipal Institute of Sports and Physical Culture; Andrea Chávez, Federal Deputy; Jesús Pacheco delegate of the Chihuahuan Sports Institute in the north zone and Lzeth Montes sprinter of the UACJ.
In this first game, the team from Juarez led by coach Jesús Aragón received the Toros de Torreón at the Josué Neri Santos Municipal Gymnasium, which had a good start for this first match.
In addition to these two teams, the LEB is made up of the Chihuahua Apaches, Chihuahua Dorados, Cuauhtémoc Manzaneros, Mequí Brewers and Agua Prieta Cowboys.
The league will last for three months.
