From 13 to 22 May, in Cassino in Lazio, the 75th edition of the National University Championships will take place, postponed by one year compared to the original date, and the CUS Sassari has started preparations to improve the results of the last edition, in 2019, when he took home ten medals. Twenty-two disciplines will be on the program, in which athletes aged up to 29 and enrolled in degree courses of universities recognized by the Ministry of Education can participate. These are climbing, athletics, men’s basketball, 3 × 3 basketball, beach volleyball, boxing, 5-a-side football, men’s 11-a-side football, canoeing / kayaking, rowing, golf, judo, karate, Olympic wrestling, 7-a-side rugby, fencing, taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting, skeet shooting and volleyball.
The preparation. At Cus Sassari, registrations are open for students of their courses. The calendar of the preliminary stages is already known for three team sports, where the teams of the Sassari university and Cus Cagliari will face each other. In five-a-side football, first leg on 22 February in Sassari and back on 1 March in Cagliari, whoever passes will challenge the winner of Milan-Turin. In 11-a-side football, going to Cagliari on 2 March and returning to Sassari on 5 April, the winner goes directly to the eight-team national finals. In basketball, which went to Cagliari on 14 February and returned two weeks later to Sassari, whoever passes will face Insubria-Varese. The schedule is awaited for 7-a-side rugby.
