Daniel Theis is said to be in the sights of the Celtics, Hornets, Bucks and Raptors

A few weeks before the trade deadline, Daniel Theis is apparently attracting the interest of several teams. At least four teams are said to have asked the Rockets about the price for the German international.

Among them are according to Jake Fischer from Bleacher Report the Boston Celtics, the Charlotte Hornets, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Toronto Raptors. The Celtics’ interest in a return campaign for Theis had already been mentioned before HoopsHype reported.

In contrast to the Celtics, the reigning champion from Milwaukee, like Charlotte or Toronto, is thinly occupied in the big positions. Accordingly, this trio should be interested in an upgrade before the trade deadline on February 10th.

Theis is considered a logical trade candidate for the Rockets, who have focused on a rebuild. The 29-year-old hardly plays a role in Houston, even though he only signed a four-year contract in Texas last summer. He’s earned $8.3 million this season and his entire contract is worth $35.6 million. However, the last year of the contract is a team option.

The Big Man has made 26 appearances for the Rockets so far in the 2021/22 season, in an average of 22.5 minutes Theis averages 8.4 points and 5.0 rebounds per game at 46.9 percent from the field and 29.1 percent from a distance. Several times he had to sit on the bench and watch without even seeing a single minute of play.

The German began his NBA career in Boston, where he played for three and a half years. He was traded to the Chicago Bulls at trade deadline last season before moving to Houston in free agency. Over his career, he averaged 7.5 points and 5.0 rebounds with a 54.1 percent field shot and 32.7 percent three-pointer rate.
