Jeffrey de Lange had a good evening visiting Willem II with his FC Twente. The keeper kept his goal clean and can look back on a good game.
“I’ve heard we are fourth, so that feels good. I thought we started pretty well, we made it a bit more difficult for ourselves in the last minutes of the first half. We became a bit sloppy,” says De Lange in conversation with FC Twente.
“After the break they went to work. Then you get shitty situations with balls back and then you have to pull him over the line.” De Lange thought it was fine that Willem II pumped more balls forward. “On the other hand, that’s also nice, because then you can also distinguish yourself. After the fifteenth minute I thought: I haven’t touched a ball yet.”
He only learned that he had to play shortly before. “The trainer called me this morning and I woke up and had a missed call. I called him right back and he said: you are going to play tonight. I didn’t have that many jitters. I called my mother and she had more jitters than me,” concludes he smiling.
