Deathly silence between MLB and Association

On December 2, the “labor” strike or better known as the lockout between Major League Baseball and the Baseball Players Association (MLBPA, for its acronym in English) began, by not reaching an agreement on several of the clauses of the new collective contract of the players.

Since that time, the commissioner, Rob Manfred, as representative of the MLB and Tony Clark, president of the MLBPA have sat down on two occasions to discuss various, non-financial terms of the firm.

However, according to various press reports, for the remainder of this first week of January, both parties will remain distanced and silent.

Prior to the Christmas and New Year festivities, sources linked to both parties assured that the economic terms of the new collective contract would begin to be discussed in this first month of 2022.

There is still a way. Spring training will begin on February 26 and Opening Day on March 31.
