Author of a good end to the campaign, the young quarterback Tua Tagovailoa would obtain the full confidence of the Miami Dolphins next season, due to the departure of head coach Brian Flores.
The driver was sacked last Monday after three seasons at the helm of the Florida team. His rocky relationship with Alabama Crimson Tide product and general manager Chris Grier got the better of him. Flores wanted to rule Tagovailoa out of plans to acquire Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans, which wouldn’t have gone through with the organization.
According to what the NFL Network reported on Saturday, the Dolphins are looking for a coach who can maximize the talent of the 23-year-old quarterback. In his second season in the NFL, Tagovailoa finished with 16 touchdowns to 10 interceptions.
He especially distinguished himself at the end of the year, reassuring at the same time Miami (9-8) by winning six of his last seven starts of the campaign. The Hawaii native was selected sixth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.
