Very difficult to say at the time of writing what the derby on Saturday will look like between Elan Tursan Basket and Coteaux du Luy. And even if this first meeting of the return phase of N3M could take place. Anyway, here we are again for several weeks of galley during which the coaches will have to juggle the PCR tests to define the workforce available for training and matches.
For this resumption, Elan Tursan will return to the difficult schedule of the first part of the season, with the reception of the runner-up of the hen (Coteaux du Luy) and the trip to the leader, the Toac … It is to be hoped that Cédric’s men Destrac acquired a good level of antibodies during this winter break.
Passes, races, reminders: it is to this test that the Luycontins have responded positively every Saturday since the start of the season. The ETB is warned, if he approaches this derby at 90% it is a rout at home guaranteed, at 100% a certain defeat, and at 120%, he has reason to hope.
In convalescence for several months now, the ETB group is gradually being recomposed but everyone knows the volume of visitors’ play, this intractable address as well as their terribly proven tactical management.
In this context, Cédric Destrac knows the difficulty that awaits his men. There is no doubt that the ETB will also want to recover from a rather poor end of the year 2021, but will it have the means? Response from 8 p.m. Saturday at Saint-Loubouer, where spectators will have to arrive with a gourd if they want to have a drink because a new epidemic outbreak requires, no catering is planned for the event. Sacred evening in perspective therefore for what was to be a highlight of the season!
Three questions to Damien Larribau, leader of Coteaux du Luy
Coteaux du Luy’s last match ended in defeat among TBC’s neighbors. Is it a comeback to earth after beating the TOAC or a logical defeat?
I don’t think it’s a comeback because you can’t compare the two games. We knew very well what awaited us in the arenas of Samadet. They are always very motivated to play against us. The fatigue accumulated during the first part of the season was felt to hope to win.
What are the objectives to be achieved by the end of the season so that we can qualify it as a good one?
Carry out a second part of the season as successful as the first, collecting as many victories as possible and why not teasing the first place. And of course win the Landes Cup!
After a visit to the “pros” you are back in your training club with your friends. What are the positive (or negative) points that you take away from these two worlds?
I can now form my own opinion of the differences between these two worlds and I do not regret the choice of returning to my training club. At Coteaux du Luy, I find a team of friends who support each other in good times and in bad times. The only negative point is my weight gain due to the excellent meals of Pierrette and Régis (laughs). Thanks again to them for treating us to post-workout meals.
