Ericsson: ”We negotiated in Danish”

At BK Häcken they are still proud of the transfer of Feyenoord transfer: "Unbelievable what that boy shows"”>Patrik Walemark to Feyenoord. The Swedish club has been a topic of conversation in the media for days. Technical director Martin Ericsson reacts: ”This is a very big transfer for us”

“We have negotiated with Feyenoord before, such as with the transfer of Simon Gustafson,” Ericsson continues in conversation with FootballFirst. “But this transfer is much bigger for us, although both Patrik and Simon are two great players.”

Negotiations with Feyenoord went smoothly. ”I played in Denmark for a few years and Frank Arnesen is Danish, so we negotiated in Danish. We both had our wishes, but we have always remained on speaking terms. It was all done with respect.”

Ericsson pulls out a record deal. “We also have to be tougher in the negotiations if we want to take the Swedish Allsvenskan to a higher level. That is why it is important for the club and competition to make these kinds of transfers. We are feeling more and more comfortable in negotiations with the big clubs, they know they can’t buy our best players for an apple and an egg.”
