THAT DOESN’T SOUND GOOD!
According to BILD information, the suspicion of a muscle fiber tear in the adductor area in BVB superstar Erling Haaland (21) has unfortunately been confirmed!
Further investigations must now reveal the exact severity of the injury and thus the probable downtime of the goalscorer.
Until then, the BVB bosses have the mini-hope that Haaland might make it to the next home game against Leverkusen (February 6).
It’s clear: The striker’s failure again (Haaland has missed 22 games since May 2020) is already raising questions…
► Will Dortmund get another striker?
No! Until the end of the winter transfer period (January 31), there are no plans for BVB to become active again on the transfer market. On the one hand, because the club hopes for a quick Haaland recovery. On the other hand, because Borussia’s hands are tied financially due to the Corona crisis.
► Who will replace Haaland in the starting XI?
Until the Norwegian comes back, coach Marco Rose (45) relies on storm jewel Youssoufa Moukoko (17/0 league goals) and substitute clipper Steffen Tigges (23/2 league goals). Variants with captain Marco Reus (32) or Thorgan Hazard (28) at the top are also conceivable.
► Can Haaland go back to Spain for rehabilitation?
Last November, Haaland (market value: 150 million euros) was allowed to fly into the Marbella sun with his personal biomechanist and movement therapist John Haddad after his hip flexor injury. The club gave an exception for this. Result: lightning healing and return to the league summit against Bayern (2:3).
Depending on the predicted duration of the outage, a rehab abroad is therefore also being considered.
