After Kingsley Coman‘s contract extension, FC Bayern would like to retain two other top performers in the long term: Serge Gnabry and Niklas Süle. The problem: The contract talks are difficult for both of them. At Süle there is also a threat of a free farewell in the summer. The situation with the 26-year-old is not completely hopeless.
Most recently, reports made the rounds that Bayern would prepare for a Süle farewell in the summer. As reported by “SPORT1”, the central defender has rejected the last contract offer from Munich in the amount of almost ten million euros. The German national player would therefore like more financial appreciation.
Will Nagelsmann again become the joker for Bayern?
Even if the contract talks are currently on hold, it is still possible to stay with the record champions, according to “SPORT1”. This is mainly due to Julian Nagelsmann, who already played a major role in the extension of Kingsley Coman, as the French himself emphasized.
Süle also feels at home under Nagelsmann and is open to further collaboration with the young trainer. An indication that the defender is not only interested in more money is, among other things, the fact that this Newcastle United should have given a rejection, as “SPORT1” claims to have learned. Accordingly, the Sheikh Club would be ready to meet the financial demands of the DFB star.
If Süle leaves Bayern, he would like to switch to a title contender who regularly plays in the Champions League.
Bavaria already has alternatives up its sleeve
According to the TV broadcaster, the contract talks will resume in mid-February. The Coman case shows that even supposedly difficult negotiations can lead to an agreement.
But it is also clear: If this does not succeed at Süle, Bayern have already targeted appropriate successors. According to “SPORT1” information, this includes above all Matthias Ginter and Nico Schlotterbeck. The two Bundesliga professionals therefore fit into the requirements profile of the Munich team in terms of salary and transfer fees.
