The Granada coach takes this step motivated “by a need for personal and work change”
Fernando Rivas has decided to disassociate himself from the Spanish Badminton Federation. This was communicated by himself through his profile on social networks. The coach from Granada takes this step motivated “by a need for personal and work change.” He clarifies that he is leaving that function, but that he will continue as Carolina Marín’s coach, “regardless of the new professional path that he begins.” They have been together for several years now and he thinks that they still have a long way to go in the coming years. In the short term with the aim of returning to the slopes by the player from Huelva and with Paris 2024 as the goal in this new Olympic cycle.
He has been at the helm of the High Performance Center for eighteen years and has been a benchmark in Spanish badminton since Manuel Hernández and David Cabello gave him the opportunity to start that project in 2004.
The current president of the Spanish Badminton Federation, Andoni Azurmendi, wanted to thank him for his work during all these years. “It has been a great pride to have a professional of his stature.”
From now on, Fernando Rivas will begin another professional stage that he has not yet revealed, but he leaves grateful. «To all the current team that forms the FESBA I wish you the best possible future. Our badminton deserves it like that,” he said.
