When it comes to the Dallas Cowboys, there’s always going to be news. And of course, from time to time opinions of former important elements that were part of the franchise will appear. As has been the case with receiver Dez Bryant, who spent eight seasons with the Lone Star team. After a brief stint in 2020 with the Ravens, he is currently a free agent and had some very positive things to say about his old team.
“I’m very excited,” Bryant commented on the fact that the Cowboys have returned to the postseason through 105.3 The Fan. “First of all, I’d like to give a shout out to Will McClay for the great job he’s been doing. Go out there and have the guys add more value to the team so they have the best chances and go to the Super Bowl. A big shout out, as well as the Joneses, the players, Dak, Zeke, I love what you’re doing. They have a great opportunity to get to the big game.”
Dez’s views contradict much of what some have been saying about the Dallas Cowboys’ performance. Where the lone star team has been disrespected and many claim that until this round of wild cards the group will arrive. For the simple fact that San Francisco has won seven of its last ten meetings, including defeating a team as strong as the Rams in week 18.

The Cowboys’ example is totally different. While it is true that they have a better record, they have gone a long time without a convincing win against a team with a positive margin. The golden opportunity was against the Cardinals in week 17, and they ended up losing the game 25-22. Therefore, that is a compelling reason for some to opt for the victory of the Californian team at AT&T Stadium.
Likewise, Prescott’s performance after the return of the bye week has left many doubts in recent games despite the victories. However, for Bryant this is not so, and he has seen a change in the quarterback since the moment he met him in his rookie days.
“I’ve seen Dak grow tremendously,” said Dez. “It shows only in his behavior, he has taken the reins and has walked with them. You can tell how much they respect him, you don’t have to be in that locker room to see the impact he has, I give him all the credit for that. The boys are going to go out and play for him. There is no limit to where he can go and I feel like he is going to go out there and have a good mentality. I think he’s really going to put on a show for people.”

Undoubtedly, it is hoped that Dak can get off to a fast start with the offense and for his part, the defense can stop the 49ers running game. Clearly, that’s the card they’re going to use from the start of the game thanks to Garoppolo’s interception failures. Plus, with his sore right thumb, his presence is likely just to encourage the team on the field, rather than over exploit it with passing plays. In case the rival quarterback was injured again, those from San Francisco would have to opt for Trey Lance. That while he’s a first-round pick, it’s anyone’s guess how he could perform in the postseason if he wasn’t used as much in the regular season.
“First of all, I would keep it really blunt. It’s a game and done. It’s a tournament,” Bryant said of having to give the locker room a message. “You have to prepare physically and mentally. And you have to understand that every play counts, because you have to stay the course. It’s a long match and you have to rely on the game plan, but also on the actions on the pitch and the approach.”
As an interesting side note, Bryant will be in the audience to watch the matchup at AT&T Stadium. In attendance at the stadium, the home crowd is expected to wear white to watch the Lone Star team win. That is what is eagerly awaited, that the group can safely advance to the divisional round.
