In July 2020, a heinous crime occurred in Sаltillo, Mexico. The child died of hypovolemic shock (shock caused by excessive blood loss), according to Proceso magazine. During the attack, she suffered injuries to her abdomen and back, as well as internal bleeding caused by a ruptured artery. The girl succumbed to her injuries and died in hospital.

Miter, who was convicted of domestic violence in 2019, initially tried to cover up the child’s death. It was an accident, he said. All his excuses were in vain: he now faces a 50-year sentence (the maximum sentence for feminicide is 60 years) in prison, which will almost certainly last the rest of his life.

Miter must also compensate the victim’s family 1.3 million pesos (about 56,000 euros). He is also required to apologize publicly for his actions, with his apology being aired in the media.
