Francisco Cerundolo defeated Camilo Ugo Carabelli this Saturday in two sets and won the title of the Santa Cruz de la Sierra Tennis Challenger, in Bolivia, a contest played under brick dust and that distributed prizes for 53,120 dollars.
In a duel between tennis players born in the city of Buenos Aires, Cerúndolo (older brother of Juan Manuel and ranked 127th in the ATP world ranking), prevailed over Ugo Carabelli (215th), with partial 6-4 and 6-3, to add his first conquest in the 2022 season.
In this way, the finalist of the 2021 edition of the Argentina Open (lost in the definition with Diego Schwartzman) increased his advantage in history over Ugo Carabelli by 3-1.
What’s next for the champion
Francisco Cerundolo will participate from Monday in the ATP 250 Open in Córdoba, which will take place in the armed complex at the Mario Alberto Kempes stadium. In the first round, they will face a rival that emerged from the classification.
