Not much is known about the circumstances yet. Egan Bernal was training in his home country of Colombia with some teammates of Ineos-Grenadiers.
“Bernal has had a serious accident involving a bus. The first information shows that he is not seriously injured,” reports the Colombian cycling site Mundo Ciclistico.
Bernal, who won the Giro last year, would normally start his season in the Tour de Provence in 3 weeks. His main goal is the Tour de France, which he already manipulated in 2019.
