Golden bay leaf for judo trainer Wolfgang Schar from the police sports club in Königsbrunn

Very few people know that a former, very successful judo competitor with a B trainer license works for the Königsbrunn police judoka. We are talking about Wolfgang Schar. As a former national team fighter of the GDR, later European Senior Champion (2007) and 3rd at the Senior World Championships (2008 in Brussels), he has been a member of the Police SV Königsbrunn for over 20 years, has worked as a referee for 15 years and is always a highly motivated one and reliable youth coach.

Wolfgang Schar modestly accepts the certificate and pin for the golden laurel leaf from the president of the police sports club in Königsbrunn, Norbert Schwalber, and vice president, Johannes Daxbacher. Wolfgang Schar was very reliable in the times of the Landesliga and Bayernliga and he was involved in the fact that the club twice became South Bavarian team champion and even third in the Bayernliga. He worked as a referee for at least 350 assignments, i.e. weekends, and all on a voluntary basis and in his free time.

Many young Königsbrunn judoka and their parents know Wolfgang Schar as a highly motivated trainer. With his specialist knowledge and his methodical and didactic skills, he teaches many young judoka the necessary judo basics, physical fitness, initial competition experience and judo values ​​such as respect. Wolfgang Schar creates the connection between the children from the beginners’ courses by Peter Albrecht and Marc Schwalber and the performance group of Regina Daxbacher. Countless medal places for the youngsters of the judo family from Königsbrunn, including medals at German championships, have their origin in the highly qualified work of Wolfgang Schar.

Tirelessly, powerfully and reliably, he trains the young judo family from Brunnenstadt, after or between his duties as a nurse. Even during the pandemic, he always makes sure that the hygiene and health protection measures are strictly observed. “Reliability inspires trust” is one of the guiding principles that define Wolfgang Schar. With great applause from the club’s judoka, Wolfgang Schar accepts the golden badge of honor from President Norbert Schwalber.
