Gonzaga suspends entrance tickets to his legend John Stockton for not wearing a mask

John Stockton lands in Spain”>Gonzaga suspended John Stockton’s men’s basketball season tickets because the Hall of Famer failed to comply with the mask mandate, he confirmed to The Spokesman-Review.

Stockton, whose No. 12 jersey was retired by the university, told the newspaper he was briefed by Gonzaga athletic director Chris Standiford. Stockton described the conversation as “pleasant” but “not pleasant”.

“Basically, it came down to me being asked to wear a mask at games and being a public figure, someone a little more visible, standing out from the crowd a little bit,” Stockton told the newspaper.

Stockton made his views on the COVID-19 vaccine public in a film that was released in June.

Standiford declined to be quoted by the newspaper, instead issuing a statement saying: “We will not discuss specific actions taken with specific individuals. We are serious about enforcing COVID-19 health and safety protocols and will continue to assessing how we can best mitigate the risks,” he said.
