The African Cup of Nations is in full swing and several controversies have tarnished the image of the competition. Some of these situations have been analyzed by the CAF Disciplinary Jury, which issued today on its official website, the final decisions on these three cases: the behavior at the end of the match of the Ghanaian Benjamin Tetteh who attacked a Gabonese player , Malian El Bilal Touré’s red card against Tunisia, and Gabon’s violations of CAF guidelines.
The Ghanaian and Gabonese selections received “severe warnings”. The Ghanaian, already suspended for two games, saw his sanction extended to three games. For his part, El Bilal Touré sees his red card being maintained, he will therefore be suspended for the matches against Gambia and Mauritania. Finally, Gabon, which had changed hotels without the agreement of CAF, was fined $20,000.
