Investigators active in the investigation into suspected fraud in Belgian football suspect the current Gantoise coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck of having received 283,750 euros in black during his first visit to the Ghelamco Arena (2014-2017), via constructions put in place by the agent Mogi Bayat, namely fictitious scouting reports and falsified transfer commissions. The daily De Standaard revealed the information on Tuesday.
However, Vanhaezebrouck’s name is not on the list of 57 people that the prosecution wants to refer to the criminal court as part of Football Gate. In this case, it is tax evasion and players and coaches who have been partially paid under the table will have to settle this with the tax authorities.
