THE WORDS OF FRÉDÉRIQUE JOSSINET, VICE-PRESIDENT IN CHARGE OF HIGH LEVELS AND PERFORMANCE:

What is your assessment of the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games?

When we arrived at the governance of France Judo, we had strong ambitions for this competition. We have been exemplary both in terms of sporting results and the commitment and state of mind of the athletes. Now, we must think about the future and prepare ourselves as well as possible to be up to the task at the next Olympic and Paralympic Games which will take place here, in France.

What have you put in place to aim for excellence in 2024?

Having ambition is good, but you still have to give yourself the means to achieve it. With Larbi Benboudaoud (High Performance Director), we started by laying the foundations. We wondered about our vision, the challenges, the objectives, in the short, medium and long term.

To achieve them, we notably needed to reorganize the high level seniors but also all the staff (from the youngest to the elite). We want to breathe new life into it. We have also created a performance unit and reinstated the selection committees. All of these decisions were validated upstream by Chairman Stéphane Nomis.

How did the reorganization of the management teams take place?

For the first time, several positions have been opened in the form of a call for applications. This was particularly the case for the coaches of the youth teams. 90% of the CTFs who applied were received. Moreover, we would like to salute the quality of these interviews which also enabled us to put in place a relevant and ambitious reorganization.

What are the objectives of this reorganization?

The reorganization has several objectives. First of all, it must allow us to achieve the best possible sporting results until 2024, whether for the youth categories and for the Olympic and Paralympic seniors. It should also allow us to support executives and young coaches to step up to be even better, train young judokas with a view to 2028 and finally feminize the coaching teams.

It is with all the coaches and managers of the French judo teams, under the authority of our High Performance Director, that we will achieve all our objectives and bring strong emotions to all the supporters of French judo.

I would like to thank all the presidents of leagues and committees who make their managers available to us to supervise at the national level and who share all these issues with us.

ON THE WAY TO 2024. HAJIME.
