[아시아경제 박종일 기자] Geumcheon-gu (Chairman Yoo Seong-hoon) opened barrier-free deck roads at three locations, Hoam Neulsol-gil, Geumcheon Sports Park, and Samgak Park, so that residents could heal their minds in the desolate city center.
The barrier-free deck road is a forest road with a width of 2m or more and a slope of less than 8% so that the handicapped and the elderly can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the forest, recreation, and the benefits of the forest.
First, the section between Hoapsa Temple and Hoam 1st Tunnel (1.2km) constructed in 2019 was extended by 0.58km to Heungsan Badminton Court. Hoamneulsol-gil, which means ‘the road where the pine breeze always blows’, is in contact with the Gwanaksan section of the Seoul Dulle-gil, creating a quiet atmosphere all year round.
In addition, a barrier-free deck road was built for a total of 1.12km from the Geumcheon Sports Park to the Doksan badminton court. Geumcheon Sports Park is the representative park of Geumcheon-gu and is also a popular attraction for nearby Gwanak-gu residents. The deck road built this time will be added to the existing promenade, and visitors are expected to respond greatly. This year, Geumcheon-gu plans to extend the Sky Bridge (tentative name) across Gamrocheon Park and the barrier-free forest road by 0.43 km from the Geumcheon Basin Stadium.
In addition, a 0.41km barrier-free deck trail was created in Samgak Park with a slope. Pedestrians who have previously had difficulty accessing the park can comfortably use the park.
In Geumcheon-gu, night lights have been installed in all three sections, including Hoam Neulsol-gil, so that residents can enjoy safely at night. The night lighting was set to an illuminance suitable for forest areas (natural green areas) to prevent ecosystem disturbance due to light pollution.
Yoo Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “With the opening of the barrier-free deck road, we hope that residents who are tired of Corona 19 will be able to freely walk around and heal their weary minds and bodies. I will try my best,” he said.
