From Friday 21 to Sunday 23 January the city of Nimes will host the first stage of the 2022 Indoor World Series of archery, the international circuit of the indoor season that will end on the weekend 4-6 February with the Finals in Las Vegas.
However, for many European archers, including Italians, it is mainly one very important general rehearsal in view of the indoor continental review scheduled in Lasko (Slovenia) from 14 to 19 February. In a blue key, there is great curiosity to see three members of the Olympic arch team at work in the recurvo in France as Federico Musolesi, Lucilla Boari and Tatiana Andreoli.
The latter, who in Nimes eight years ago graduated as world junior indoor champion (at just 15 years old) on an individual level, is looking for encouraging confirmations after her good third place at the Berlin Open to prove that she has definitely turned the page later on. to a negative Olympic debut in Tokyo. Boari instead shows up at the Olympic bronze event in office and from 10 in the world, she will consequently be one of the women to beat together with the hostess, the transalpine Lisa Barbelin and the Dutch Gabriela Schloesser.
In the men’s field Musolesi will be able to have his say in the battle for top positions together with compatriot Marco Morello (reigning Italian indoor champion), but the big favorites for the final success will be the Dutch Steve Wijler and the French trio made up of Thomas Chirault, Jean-Charles Valladont and Pierre Plihon. Finally, as regards the compound division, the great Dutch phenomenon “Mister Perfect” Mike Schloesser will be present with the aim of continuing to set new records.
