Young was drafted by the Washington Wizards in the 2007 draft. He played for several teams before joining the Lakers in 2013, which is mostly remembered. Later in 2017, he joined the Warriors in search of a championship and delivered at key times for them. After winning the chip, Young joined the Nuggets where he was later waived.
Although he has not announced his retirement, Nick Young has not been part of an NBA team since then. You’d expect a 3-point shooter like Young to make it into a roster, but it didn’t. Recently, Young attended the Running the Table podcast with Draymond Green and Ty Young, where they discussed various topics.

Young was asked if he left, he was kicked out of the league. He replied, “Yeah.. uh, I felt like you know, they were just ready to get rid of people like me, JR (Smith) and like… It was like a cleanup crew for a reason any.” Draymond asked Young why he felt that way, to which he replied “I was like.. Probably just too strong.” Tamera Young, who is also a free agent currently, said she felt like she was being pushed out as well.

Young was selected 16th overall in the 2007 draft by the Wizards. He spent 4 seasons there from 2007 to 2011. At the Wizards, he established himself as a top 3-point shooter. Later in his career, he was signed by the Los Angeles Lakers. In his first season, he established himself as the Lakers’ sixth man and led the team in scoring. The Lakers were in rebuilding mode, as they had a lot of young talent. He was something of a leader for this team, with Kobe out through injury.
After a few disappointing years, Young left for the Warriors where he was an integral part of their bench. He helped them clinch the 2018 championship against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
