Twist in the new update of the IJF calendar for 2022, waiting for the Grand Prix in Portugal which will open the dances of the Judo World Tour on the weekend 28-30 January. The International Federation has in fact opted for an unexpected one exchange of dates between Senior World Championships and Junior World Championships, in the meantime formalizing the seat of the youth world championship.
Initially scheduled from 7 to 14 August, the highlight of the post-Olympic season has been relocated to the calendar from 2 to 9 October in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). Reverse process for the Under 21 World Cup, which will take place at this point in Ecuador (in Guayaquil) from 10 to 13 August and will already award important points with a view to qualifying five circles for Paris 2024.
Also noteworthy are the new dates of the Zagreb Grand Prix, two months earlier and now scheduled for 15-17 July. Only one question mark still pending, linked to the host city of the year-end Masters which should take place from 16 to 18 December. We remind you that the new Olympic qualification period will start from the Ulaanbaatar Grand Slam (24-26 June).
