Latvian basketball player Aija Jurjāne scored eight points in the Turkish championship game on Saturday, helping Ankara’s “Botash” guests to win over Anete Steinberg’s Istanbul “Galatasaray”. In the away game, the botan won Galatasaray with a score of 75:65 (23:19, 15:11, 24:20, 13:15).
Jurjāne scored eight points in 29 minutes and five seconds on the court, taking three of the seven two-point shots and two of the three free throws, but missed one long throw. She also scored four rebounds, intercepted three assists, made three mistakes, collected three personal notes and ended the game with an efficiency of six.
In the Ankara team, Jezmine Davis and Aise Choir were the most successful with 14 points. Pelinas Bilgič stood out in Galatasaray with 17 points and seven rebounds. Šteinberga was part of the Istanbul team, but he did not leave.
In another game, Ilze Jākobsone beat Istanbul’s “Nesibe Aydin” with a result of 79:74 (14:19, 22:21, 16:12, 27:22) in Istanbul’s “Beškitaš” away. Latvian basketball player Kitty Laksa scored six points on Saturday in the 16th round of the Italian Series A, helping her Skio “Famila” to succeed. Skio’s team, led by the former head coach of the Latvian national team Georg Dikeulak, beat Sesto Sanjovanni’s “Allianz Geas” 76:72 (23:11, 21:19, 17:17, 15:25).
Lakssi had 30 minutes and 54 seconds on the field, during which two of the ten long shots were fired and two two-point shots were fired at the basket. She also fought four rebounds, provoked one foul to her opponents and finished the game with a +/- score of +2.
Sandrīne Gruda was the most productive player with 18 points and nine rebounds. Ivana Raca stood out with 21 points in the Allianz Geas team.
