Kim Jae-won “Daegu Jung/Nam-gu not running for by-election.. Helps change the government”

Reporter Kwon Bong-gil = Kim Jae-won, the top member of the People’s Power, announced on the 30th that “I will not run for the Central and Southern National Assembly members by-elections this time.”

Kim said on his Facebook page that day, “I will not hesitate to do anything that will contribute even a little to the cause of regime change in the future.”

He continued, “I sincerely thank the many people who cared for me and worried about me. I will never forget that kindness for the rest of my life.”

Even though the People’s Power decided to not appoint nominations in the Daegu Jung and Nam-gu constituencies in the re-election following the Democratic Party of Korea, Supreme Councilor Kim became controversial when he announced his intention to run as an independent after leaving the party. Criticism poured in from within the party as well as the Democrats’ offensive.

Kwon Young-se, head of the presidential campaign, said, “After leaving the party, there is no party for independent candidates.”

People’s Power decided to open nominations for Seochogap and Jongno in Seoul, Anseong in Gyeonggi, and Seongju in Chungbuk, except for Daegu Jung and Nam-gu, which became vacant due to the resignation of Kwak Sang-do, a former member of the National Assembly involved in the Daejang-dong case, in the March 9 by-election for the National Assembly by-election. The nomination method has not been determined.
