SAN FRANCISCO — Klay Thompson had a late relapse before the NBA –Number Web”>Golden State Warriors‘ 94-92 victory over the Utah Jazz on Sunday night after experiencing soreness in his left knee that caused him to sit out.
Thompson had his knee surgically repaired in July 2019 after tearing his ACL in Game 6 of the NBA Finals that year.
“It’s nothing serious,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said before the game. “It’s just part of the caution.”
According to Kerr, the original plan was to play Thompson. But as the game progressed, Rick Celebrini, the Warriors’ director of sports medicine, informed Kerr that Thompson was having soreness in his left knee and should sit out.
Thompson is considered day by day.
