Nine years ago, Erwan Delaporte discovered the practice of judo. A sport for which he will be passionate.

And that’s not surprising, because in the family of this 13-year-old boy, judo is a virus that you catch quickly. His mother practiced it, his little brother is in the same club as him at the Big-Sales (Seine-Maritime) and several of his cousins are black belts.

Young Referees Championship

Erwan is a blue belt and is one of the minimal. “It was during training, at the request of my teacher, Valérie Charuel, that I had the opportunity to referee for the first time,” says Erwan Delaporte. And the young boy took a liking to it.

“So I decided to undertake training to be able to referee more thoroughly, during matches and not just at his club. »

The training takes place in Pavilly, not far from Rouen in the form of two-hour courses four times a year. The latter will allow him, in the long term, to participate in the championship of young referees.

“There are ten of them, in teams of three trainees. Two fight and the third referee. Then we change referees until the three trainees have refereed, explains Valérie Charuel. They are coached by teachers and learn the techniques and gestures essential for good refereeing, guaranteeing the quality and fairness of the matches. »

Integrate the hope pole

A training that is reserved for the minimal. “He will be able to continue in another category as his judoka training progresses,” say the parents. In 2022, he will participate, twice a year, in one-day departmental courses.

In 5e at Longueville-sur-Scie college, Erwan reveals his ambitions:

“I want to pursue a sports study course in high school in Rouen and join the judo hope center. Later, I would like to become a judo teacher. »

Erwan also regularly goes to the swimming pool and has recently become passionate about photography, since he chose a photo option at his college.

A young person full of future and a good recruit for the Judo Club des Grandes-Ventes.
