KOMPAS.com – Robert Lewandowski opened his voice after learning that he was not chosen by Lionel Messi in the voting for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021.
The ceremony, aka the night of The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021, was held in Zurich, Switzerland, Tuesday (18/1/2022) early morning WIB.
The main agenda at the event was the presentation of the 2021 FIFA Best Player award for the men’s category.
There are three finalists who are candidates, namely Robert Lewandowski, Lionel Messi, and Mohamed Salah.
The first name that finally came out as champion. Robert Lewandowski won after getting the highest points, which is 48.

The Bayern Munich striker is ahead of Lionel Messi (44 points) and Mohamed Salah (39), who occupy position 2-3 in a row.
Throughout 2021, Robert Lewandowski has managed to score a total of 69 goals with 43 of them carved in the top caste of the German League, the Bundesliga.
The Polish national team captain also helped Bayern Munich win the Club World Cup, the 2020-2021 Bundesliga and the German Super Cup, in 2021.
This is Lewandowski’s second consecutive Best FIFA Mens Player of the Year title. Previously, he had also received the award in 2020.
Lewandowski is now level with Cristiano Ronaldo, who has also collected two FIFA best player titles.

On the other hand, Lewandowski entered Messi’s name in the voting for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2021, but only came in second.

For the first choice, Lewandowski chose the hero of the Italian national team at Euro 2020, Jorginho, and placed Cristiano Ronaldo in third.
Knowing that Messi did not choose him, Lewandowski responded casually.

“Personally, I hope everything is fine. It was his choice, I have to respect it,” said Lewandowski.
“I don’t need to say anything negative or angry,” Lewandowski added.
