The Cadurciens performed well during the selective archery competition for the French championship which brought together fifty-five archers this Sunday at the Cabessut complex in Cahors.
The sports hall of the Cabessut complex was busy this Sunday afternoon. Fifty-five archers (19 women and 36 men), from chick (10 years old) to senior 3 (over 60 years old) categories, were present during a competition, organized by the first Bow Company of Cahors, selective for the French championships. Sixteen clubs from Occitania were represented, including Pamiers and Agde for the most distant, as well as two clubs from other regions: Boé (Lot-et-Garonne) and Evreux (Eure). The targets (the size of which varies according to the category: 80cm for the chicks, 60cm for the youngest and minimal and 40cm for the cadets, juniors and seniors) were placed 18 meters away. In this competition where three types of bows were present (bare bow, recurve bow and compound bow) each archer had twenty ends of three arrows to shoot with a maximum of two minutes for each end. The twelve archers from Cadurcy in the running this Sunday, some of whom were taking part in their very first competition, were able to do well both among young people and among the most experienced, as evidenced by their good results:
Recurve bow:
Ladies chicks: 1re Elea Papax ; twoe Madeline Roque.
Benjamins: 5th Aymeris Barre; 7e Noam Aube; 8e Thomas Jouanneau.
Cadets: 1re Aurélie Espinasse (note that Aurélie Espinasse has just brilliantly passed the young referee exam).
Juniors : 3e Lucas Duprat.
Senior 1 ladies: 1re Nelly d’Oliveira-Rezende.
Senior 1 men: 2e Maxime Teyssandie; 3e Baptist Garayt.
Compound bow:
Senior 3 men: 2e Denis Nivart; 8e Bernard Rousse.
Next meeting for the Cadurcien club on March 27: meeting beginners and mixed trophies (departmental competition by mixed team).
