Lydia Ko leads the Gainbridge LPGA, Perrine Delacour 25th

Lydia Ko returns the best card of the first regular tournament of the year 2022 on the LPGA. The former world No. 1 posted 63 on the course of the Boca Rio Golf Club (Florida). A -9 virgin of the slightest hitch which allows him to point in the lead with two strokes ahead of the very fit Danielle Kang (-7).

The American, who is coming off a success in the tournament of champions last week, had eight birdies against a single bogey at 4.

Note that the world No. 1 and title holder of this event Nelly Korda is 11th after a first 68.

Delacour leads Les Bleues

Three French women are involved in this tournament and it is Perrine Delacour who is doing the best after this first day. The Parisian, who is starting her 9th season among the American elite, plays 69 (-3) and only complained about a blunder at 4 against four birdies. She is ranked 25th provisionally.

Less flamboyant start for Céline Boutier and Pauline Roussin-Bouchard. The first plays 72 (par) and may regret a double bogey at 18 (par 4) which relegates it to 63rd place. The second, which is making its official debut on the LPGA, is content with a 73 with the ideal start option (-2 on its first nine) and a slightly more restless return (4 bogeys against a birdie). Pauline is 81st one stroke away from the provisional cut set in par.
