Magic Johnson angry at Lakers, LeBron James apologizes

Say that the Lakers are not having a good season would be an understatement: the team, which has a string of defeats, is going through a difficult period… much to the chagrin of some legends, like Magic Johnson, who couldn’t resist sending a tackle to the players.

Saturday January 15, the Lakers found themselves once again overtaken by their opponent. Faced with the Nuggets, they have indeed lost 96 to 133, nearly 40 points apart. A loss that does not pass, adding to the other failures of the Lakers this season… the mid-season is over for a while, and the supporters of the team are faced with a severe observation: the Lakers are in full decline.

The downfall of a legendary team

Among the big fans of the Lakers, some are starting to get impatient with these poor performances, including Magic Johnson who expressed his impatience on the networks: “After the 133-96 beating of the Nuggets, we as Lakers fans can accept being outclassed, but we deserve more than a lack of effort and no sense of urgency. Owner JeanieBuss, you deserve better.”

And the player is not the only one to get upset: James Worthy, former player and consultant for Spectrum SportsNet joined the latter in venting his anger at the team. “Tonight against Denver I saw a team unable to create any momentum. I did not see a team that arrived ready to fight”; chaining: “There are actions that were determined by their lack of effort (…) The Lakers must look in the mirror after this kind of meeting”.

Raw comments, which do not take tweezers to try to shake the team. Especially since LeBron James, who still plays for the Lakers, seems to be the only one giving it his all, carrying the team to an average of 25 points per game. This one, however, split a message of apology to his fans, promising to do better.

A complicated situation, therefore, for the Los Angeles team, whose influence is nevertheless legendary. There is still some time for players to pull themselves together before the end of the season, and we want them to get there.
