CB Granada seeks to surprise Rinconada Sevilla again

Javi’s Maracena La Esquinita Handball concludes this weekend the first round in group F of the First Division. Travel to face Sanse Handball today (6:00 p.m.) in the Valvanera pavilion.

The Granada team has an important game ahead of them in their goal of trying to avoid relegation. They face a direct rival, who currently has five more points and is out of the danger zone. Maracena Handball has only been able to win one game so far and needs to add more wins to escape from the last two positions. On the previous day they lost against Ciudad de Algeciras and that keeps them in last position.

He remains to play half of the competition and must improve his performance to be eligible to win more games. It thoroughly remodeled the squad last summer and is still in a growth phase. It tends to accuse many ups and downs in each meeting.

For its part, the CD Universidad de Granada faces the sixteenth day in group D of the Women’s Division of Honor Silver. It will receive today (8:00 p.m.) in the Fuentenueva pavilion the Leganés Handball, sixth classified and that has won nine of the fourteen games it has played.

The team that Josema Aranda trains needs to react as soon as possible to feed options to achieve permanence. In the absence of playing eleven days to conclude the competition, he has not yet been able to win any match. He has distanced himself a bit from penultimate position and his margin of error is very small.

Badminton

Promotion to the Honor Division was already a historic milestone for the Torres Group Granada Badminton Club. However, once that goal was achieved, Salvador Franco’s team set out to add to its sports history book in the highest category of national badminton.

The first page was completed back in September, when the Granada squad managed to debut in the elite with a home victory for one of the best teams in the competition. As if this were not enough, Salvador Franco’s players, tireless in their quest to be the best, achieved their first victory at home on December 19.

Closed 2021 with a promotion, an away win and the first win at home, the historical section can still be broader if Club Badminton Granada Grupo Torres is able to repeat victory against Rinconada Sevilla for two reasons. The first would be for achieving two consecutive wins in the elite, and the second because they would also achieve their second victory in a row at home, which would make the Núñez Blanca pavilion an almost impregnable fort.

This exciting Andalusian derby will be played this Sunday from 11:00. Like the rest of the matches, the duel against Rinconada Sevilla can be followed live on the Youtube channel of the Spanish Badminton Federation, and deferred on TG7.

Volleyball

Covirán CDU Atarfe is playing matchday thirteen in group C of Superliga Femenina 2. They host Benidorm today (6:00 p.m.), whom they need to win to continue with chances of reaching second place. In the Men’s First Division, Panadería Salvador CV Gójar hosts Adeva and Universidad plays against Leleman.

Rugby

CD Universidad de Granada disputes the ninth day in the First Regional. He travels to face Jaén Rugby this Sunday (12.00), which he will try to beat to maintain his chances of qualifying for second place. On the other hand, the Second Regional match that Escoriones and Costa de Almería-URA were supposed to play this Sunday has been suspended, as positives were detected in the latter team.

Waterpolo

CN Alhambra concludes this weekend the first phase of the competition in group B of the Primera Andaluza. He travels to face today (7:30 p.m.) CW Algeciras, with whom he is fighting for third place. On Sunday (7:00 p.m.) he will receive Waterpolo Jerez at the pool of the La Chana sports complex. Winning both games would even give him the chance of reaching second place.
