The Andalusian athlete Maribel Perez This Friday he equaled his Spanish record of 60 meters with 7.21, a mark that has allowed him to win the Karlsruhe meeting, the first round of the World Athletics Indoor Tour. Pérez was eight hundredths better than the Luxembourgian PAtrizia Van der Weken (7.29) and twelve hundredths better than the third-placed athlete, the Barbadian Tristan Evelyn (7.33).
On January 9, Maribel Pérez broke the Spanish record for the 60 meters, which remained in the hands of Sandra Myers for 34 years. Her brand is currently the tenth best in the world and the first in Europe, so the Sevillian hopes to achieve a great result in the Indoor World Championship, to be held in March in Belgrade.
In Karlsruhe he also competed Nobility Mechaal, who finished second in the 3,000 meters after the Ethiopian Berihu Aregawi. The Spaniard stopped the clock in 7:36:57, improving his personal best by four seconds and signing the second best world record of the year in the distance.
