Matteo Berrettini’s thanks to Imodium

On Monday Matteo Berrettini, one of the strongest Italian tennis players, beat the American Brandon Nakashima with a little effort in the first round of the Australian Open, one of the most important tennis tournaments in the world. Berrettini’s victory was made complicated above all by a series of intestinal problems that he had at various moments in the game: at the beginning of the fourth set, for example, he had to interrupt the game to return to the locker room, and twice he requested the intervention of doctors.

At the end of the game, instead of the usual signature in marker pen on the camera lens, Berrettini wrote a message of thanks for the medicine that probably allowed him to finish the race. “Thanks Imodium!” He wrote, referring to Janssen’s well-known diarrhea medicine.
