Also this year, on the occasion of the celebrations in honor of the patron saint San Sebastiano, the local police of Modica renewed the commitment undertaken with the Avis already at the end of 2015 with the campaign “With all the Forces we say yes to the gift of blood “.
This morning, for the seventh consecutive year, agents and auxiliaries, led by Commander Rosario Cannizzaro, were guests of the Transfusion Center at the Maggiore Hospital, welcomed by the Avis directors Giorgio Barone and Giuseppe Catiti, by doctors Alberto Guccione and Luisa Ferraro , and by all the staff, for an extraordinary donation of blood, in an atmosphere of great and full serenity.
“For us – says the Commander – it is a source of pride to renew this commitment because blood donation is done in complete freedom and whoever has done it is aware of the importance. Like every year, this is the seventh, we hope that our gesture will serve as a stimulus for the community, because donating blood is beautiful and important. This time it has a double value for us: in fact, we dedicate the donation to our colleague Peppe Casa (he donated the proceeds of one of his books to charity), who passed away on the eve of San Sebastiano ”.
As always, in the next few days other agents will make their donation, considering that today they were engaged in non-deferrable services.
