Morelos team ready for the National badminton in Jalisco – El Sol de Cuautla

Before celebrating the National Championship for children’s categories in Morelos, the Mexican Badminton Federation will hold its first national of the year in Jalisco within the youth category from 15 to 19 years old starting the following weekend, an event that Morelos will attend with a delegation of 16 athletes.

The championship will take place from February 4 to 6, and like the event scheduled on Morelense soil at the end of the same month, it will qualify for the Junior Pan American Championship that will take place in the Dominican Republic this year.

The national one here in Zapatista lands will be for categories from 11 to 13 years old, and will be held in the municipality of Temixco from February 24 to 27.

The modalities that will be applied will be individual, doubles and mixed, within both branches, men’s and women’s.

For the national in Jalisco it will be the same modalities, only that the categories will be 15, 17 and 19 years old.

At the close of the inscriptions that were yesterday, Morelos confirmed the participation of 16 youth racket players in the venue that will be gym 2 of CODE Jalisco, which is located in Guadalajara.

The State Association of the discipline, in charge of the state coach Francisco Alcántara Cortés, announced that Morelos will have representation in the three categories.

Most will see activity within the U-17 category with 8 players, while the U-15 will have 5, and the U-19 only three.

It was reported that the U-15 category selection is made up of Sofía Ruiz, Luis Vázquez, Emmanuel Esquer, Emiliano Carrera and Pablo Aguilar.

For the U-17 category, Luna Mazón, Regina Gómez, Natalia Millán, Sofía Pérez, Carlos de la Sierra, Ángel Curiel, Félix Aguilar, and Julio Ortiz will be present.

And within the category up to 19 years will compete: Ámbar Rogel, Ariadna Popoca, and Leonardo García.

Morelos, like the rest of the participating states, will have their first official competition of the year in search of surpassing what was done in 2021 where the Zapatistas had important, unprecedented results during the national events they attended, including the Conade Nationals. .

Those selected emerged within the selective state organized by the Association last December at the beginning of the path for this year’s competitions.
