Nabil Fekir’s corner goal causes chaos, the Sevilla derby is forced to be postponed (+Video)

Real Betis midfielder Nabil Fekir demonstrated individual quality by scoring the equalizer from a corner in the Sevilla derby on Sunday (16/1) early this morning.

In the last 16 of the Copa del Rey which was held at the Estadio Benito Villamarin, Sevilla as the guest team was able to take the lead through a goal scored by Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez in the 34th minute.

It took only four minutes for Betis to catch up, as Fekir responded brilliantly with a corner which went straight into Alfonso Pastor’s goal.

The commotion then occurred in the stands of the host’s supporters, who excitedly threw a suspected plastic object that then hit Joan Jordan’s head.

Referee decides match postponed

Because Jordan’s head, Sevilla’s players were injured, the referee decided to suspend this match.

Citing reports Spanish Goals, if the footballer gets injured from other factors, the game can be stopped and that’s how it is.

The final decision was then made by the field referee, in this case Ricardo De Burgos Bengoetxea.

When will this derby resume?

Sources close to Betis confirmed that the match could be played again on Sunday evening local time, or Monday (17/1) early morning WIB.

The exception to this postponed match is that fans are not allowed to attend the stadium.
