The National of Uruguay announced this Saturday the hiring of Argentine striker Emmanuel Gigliotti, who will arrive from the Mexican León, the club with which he won the 2020 Opening Tournament.
“The ‘Puma’ Emmanuel Gigliotti puts on the Dean’s shirt and in a few days he arrives to join the 2022 season of the Bag. #Welcome Gigliotti to the country of Nacional,” indicates a publication on the institution’s official Twitter account.
Minutes later, Nacional also shared there a video with goals from the attacker born in Buenos Aires in 1987. Throughout his career,
Gigliotti defended different teams from his country, including Argentinos Junios, All Boys, Atlético Tucumán, San Lorenzo de Almagro, Colón de Santa Fe, Independiente and Boca Junios. He also played in Italy, China and Mexico.
With the arrival of Gigliotti, the Uruguayan side confirmed their fourth signing after hiring right-back José Luis Rodríguez, Colombian winger Alex Castro, former Atlético Nacional, and attacker Leandro Otormín.
This Monday, the tricolor will play their first friendly match of the 2022 preseason against the Chilean Ñublense at the Gran Parque Central stadium. Then, they will face the Argentines Barracas Central and San Lorenzo, while they will also do it twice with Peñarol, their classic rival.
