NBA: Batum catches fire and offers victory to the Clippers

French Los Angeles Clippers NBA: Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks blow up Stephen Curry Golden State Warriors”>Nicolas Batum pulled out all the stops on Monday night in a 139-133 win at home against the Indiana Pacers, scoring 32 points in the second period.

“Batman” is only the fourth NBA player to score at least 30 points in a single half. The Blues captain is in good company on this list with Stephen Curry (Warriors), Giannis Antetokounmpo (Bucks) and Jaylen Brown (Celtics)

“It’s good for them to be by my side, quipped Nicolas Batum after the meeting. Well, don’t get too used to me doing that either.

And yet, the Clippers would need it. The Californian franchise being deprived of its two stars, Paul George (elbow) and Kawhi Leonard (knee), the tricolor winger seems to be the most reliable and potentially prolific offensive solution in the squad along with Reggie Jackson (26 points against in Indiana).

Accurate to three points

Between them, they scored 33 of their team’s 35 points in the final quarter in the win over the Pacers. The Frenchman was also damn clever with 11 shots out of 16, including 7/10 from three points, to which he added 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Not to mention his usual defensive impact with two counterattacks in particular.

In the indefinite absence of his two stars, coach Tyronn Lue must therefore hope to see Nicolas Batum continue in the wake of this superb performance.
