The Memphis Grizzlies took their eleventh win in a row and continued their run with it. In the case of the Nets, the victory in the top game is followed by disillusionment: against OKC it sets a home bankruptcy. The weakened replacement Clippers suffer a defeat in New Orleans, the Blazers get under the wheels in Denver.
Milwaukee Bucks (27-17) – Golden State Warriors (30-11) 118:99 (Spielbericht)
Memphis Grizzlies (30-14) – Minnesota Timberwolves (20-22) 116:108 (BOXSCORE)
- The Memphis Grizzlies have achieved their eleventh victory in a row, but the Timberwolves held against it for a long time and the game was exciting until the final minutes. The Big Three of the Timberwolves came together to 84 points. But that wasn’t enough.
- At the Grizzlies, the scoring was spread over several shoulders, five players scored in the double-digit range, led by Desmond Bane with 21 points, Jaren Jackson Jr. contributed 20 points. Ja Morant finished the game with 16 points (5/16 FG, 0/7 threesome), but also helped his team to success with 9 assists and 8 rebounds. John Konchar came up with a strong double-double (15 and 17 rebounds).
- The great strength of the Grizzlies was probably the greatest weakness of the T-Wolves, because Edwards (30), Russell (29) and Towns (25) received no support at all from the role players in the offense, the next best scorer was Jarred Vanderbilt with 8 points .
- After two converted free throws by Brandon Clarke, the hosts were leading 107: 106 around two minutes before the end. Minnesota then made two turnovers, in both cases the Grizzlies scored and went with one minute on the clock with six points, in the subsequent free throws the hosts kept their nerves and put the lid on it.
- Corona Protocol: Yves Pons (Grizzlies), Leandro Bolmaro (T-Wolves)
New Orleans Pelicans (16-26) – L.A. Clippers (21-22) 113:89 (BOXSCORE)
- A statistic at the beginning: After the game against the Pels, the Clippers scored 62 points in their last two first halves – 62 points in four quarters (!). The numbers of guests from the first half against the Pelicans are devastating (26.2 percent FG, 2/18 threesomes).
- Without the superstar duo Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, LA lacks firepower on the offensive. Although five Clippers players scored double digits, this was simply not enough with the poor throwing rates. Terance Mann was the most successful shooter in the Clippers with 15 points, Isaiah Hartenstein was again not used.
- In the Pelicans, Brandon Ingram knew how to please (24 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds), Jonas Valanciunas showed dominance on the boards and put on a double-double (18 points, 16 boards).
- On the whole, New Orleans was really not a masterpiece on the offensive, but benefited from the Clippers’ 15 ball losses, which they converted into 23 points. The Pelicans have now won seven of their past nine home games and are on the upswing.
- Corona-Protokoll: Luke Kennard, Justise Winslow (beide Clippers)
