NBA, knee injury for Kevin Durant, Nets star out at least 4-6 weeks – OA Sport

Bad news at Brooklyn Nets. The number one star of the franchise coached by Steve Nash, that is Kevin Durant, he will be forced to remain in the pits for quite a long time. The two-time MVP of the Finals, in fact, has secured a knee injury during tonight’s (and won) match against the New Orleans Pelicans.

After only 12 minutes, in fact, the former Texas University product (who travels with 29.2 points, 7.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists per game this year) had to leave the Barclays Center parquet because of one clash with his teammate Bruce Brown. The instrumental tests to which he immediately underwent, gave a not positive result, but less worrying than what was feared: no knee ligament rupture, but collateral medial sprain.

Recovery times should be around 4-6 weeks, so the season for Kevin Durant can be considered safe. This is, among other things, the same injury he suffered in 2017 at the time of the Golden State Warriors. In that case the stop was for a month, so everything under control for the champion native of Washington.

NBA, the results of the night (January 15): Nets, 76ers and Spurs win, defeats for Bulls and Bucks. Lakers beaten sharply in Denver

At the moment the Brooklyn Nets are in second place in the Eastern Conference, with only half a game behind the Chicago Bulls (27-14 vs 27-15). Fresh from 4 wins and 6 losses in their last 10 outings, the New York team will now have to really grit their teeth given the long absence of their main star.

Continuing with the problem related to Kyrie Irving, who is not vaccinated and cannot play at home, all the weight of the team, especially in attack, will be on James Harden’s shoulders. We will see, therefore, if the former Houston Rockets will be able to keep the Nets at the top of the Conference.
