Melilla Sport Capital Baloncesto is back after the second outbreak of COVID-19 that the squad suffered. Thus, the azulones carried out their first joint training yesterday, Sunday, after the positive results that appeared in the first team this past Monday and that forced them to stop the work sessions and suspend two games -against EasyCharger Palencia and ICG Força Lleida- that they had to dispute this last week.
Already last Friday, some players, who were negative in the PCR tests carried out by the club, began to exercise individually, as recommended by the protocol set by the Spanish Basketball Federation. As we mentioned before, yesterday the first joint training session took place since the cancellation and in which only the positive ones were absent, who are well and keeping the mandatory quarantine in their homes.
As for the Sunday session, it should be noted that Arturo Álvarez’s men began work in the bodybuilding room, to later go down to the Javier Imbroda Pavilion playing court and complete a tactical session in which the team from Melilla began to prepare the duel this coming Friday, starting at 8:45 p.m., against Palmer Alma Mediterránea Palma.
Today, Monday, in the morning shift, the Melilla Sport Capital Basketball players and coaching staff will once again carry out a new tactical session, work that they will repeat tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday, the day on which the last training session will take place before to receive the Balearic team on Friday.
In addition, during this week it is expected that the members of the squad who tested positive, once they test negative, will join the group dynamics and be able to participate in the match against the islanders, corresponding to the first day of the second round.
