Deshaun Watson “has expressed a strong desire” to play for the Giants
Just over a week has passed since the 2021 season came to an end, and speculation about the QB’s next destination Deshaun Watson have already been present. Via Jordan Schultz from ESPN, this Saturday it was reported that Watson “has expressed a strong desire” to play for the Giants, where he could reestablish his personal brand by being one of the top markets in the NFL.
In addition, and returning to the narrative of the regular season, the report adds that Watson would like Brian Flores, recently fired by the Dolphins, serve as their new head coach: “Watson and Flores have been in constant communication trying to navigate a scenario where they end up on the same team,” reports Schultz, who added that John Mara, co-owner of the Giants “respects and appreciates Flores.”
On the other hand, Flores, who during the regular season led Miami’s thought of landing Watson on their roster, “believes his best chance of building a winning team is with Watson” commanding the offense, “even if that means get to a less talented roster,” Schultz concluded.
The 26-year-old Watson is undeniably one of the best quarterbacks working today, however, last season he lived off the Texans’ bench because he no longer wants to be with the franchise and, more importantly, because of the more than 20 lawsuits added against him of course sexual offense. For his part, Flores has only been unemployed for a week after his surprise departure from Miami, but now we could see this pair together heading to the 2022 NFL Season. Are the Giants the new destination for Watson and Flores?
Developing story: Deshaun Watson and Brian Flores have been in constant communication trying to navigate a scenario where they go to the same team, per sources. Watson “trusts and likes” Flores and has been adamant internally that he’d like to play for him next season. https://t.co/HhBScUy85m

Mike McCarthy at risk of being replaced by Kellen Moore
The Playoffs came to an end prematurely for the Cowboys after a disappointing performance against the 49ers, which is why radical changes could come in the immediate future for the franchise. Via Jason La Canfora CBS, this weekend it was reported that the owner of Dallas, Jerry Jones, could consider a change of head coach, a position he currently holds Mike McCarthy, since the team did not meet the expectations for the 2021 NFL Season.
The leading candidate to replace McCarthy would be right at home; it’s about the OC Kellen Moore, who this hiring cycle has attracted multiple interest from teams looking for a new head coach. The La Canfora report points out that an eventual dismissal of Moore would be seen as a very important loss for the Jones family: “If this season does not end as Jerry thinks it should, do not be surprised if Kellen Moore is his next head coach much sooner. how late He doesn’t want to lose it,” said La Canfora.
Over the past few seasons, Jones has been one of Moore’s greatest defenders, believing from the start in his ability to properly shape an offense, work with quarterbacks and call plays; A clear example is that when McCarthy took over as Dallas’ head coach in 2020, he did so with the knowledge that Moore would serve as offensive coordinator.
Time proved Jones right, especially in the aspect that Moore knows how to work with quarterbacks because, under his tutelage, this season the QB Dak Prescott he finished with 410 completions and 37 TDs, both career bests, and the Cowboys were the best offense this season in average points per game (31.2) and passing yards per game (416.6). Should Kellen Moore become the organization’s new head coach?
I’m just going to leave this here from my reporting yesterday https://t.co/sfyuFiH4n5

Russell Wilson wants to ‘explore options’ this offseason
The 2021 Season of the Seahawks it was a real disappointment, and the above could lead to big adjustments for the franchise in the immediate future. Via Ian Rapoport from NFL Media, this Sunday it was reported that the QB Russell Wilson wants to “explore options” this offseason. The report adds that so far Wilson has not demanded any trade And it’s not clear if he will, but at least those close to the quarterback say he wants to investigate other destinations to see if that would put him in a better position to win another Super Bowl.
For its part, and in parallel, this week the GM met John Schneider, el HC Pete Carroll and the team president, Jody Allen, to discuss the future of the franchise at their regular end-of-season meeting. While this meeting did not generate more information about what is already known, Carroll did offer some interesting words:
“Starting with Allen, she wants us to look at every opportunity to improve the franchise,” Caroll told the sporting director of KCPQ Fox 13, Aaron Levine. “That’s what we do. It will take some time to put it all together and we have a lot of tough decisions to make this year. I love this team. We have the core for a championship right here and we’re going to try to keep it together.”
In his comments, Carroll hints that the script for this offseason could resemble that of 2020, when Mark Rodgers, Wilson’s agent, made public that his client, who has a no-trade in his contract, he would have agreed to be traded only to a small roster that included the Raiders, Bears, Cowboys and Saints. However, two weeks ago Wilson pointed out that wants to continue winning championships in Seattle, so at this point his future for 2022 is unknown. Where will we see Wilson playing next season?
#Seahawks QB Russell Wilson wants to explore his options, sources say. But will the Seattle brass be on board or will it mirror last offseason with the hope of running it back?

Tua Tagovailoa would return as a starter to the Dolphins in 2022
Behind the surprise firing of Brian Flores, in Miami they need a new head coach, and everything indicates that it will be one that firmly supports Tua Tagovailoa, the team’s current but controversial quarterback. Via Ian Rapoport from NFL Media, this Saturday it was reported that, except for some unforeseen event, Tua is expected to be the QB1 of the Dolphins at the start of the 2022 Season. The organization’s confidence in him as a starter is considered “significant” and it appears that the possible search for an eventual replacement is over.
Rapoport’s report adds that the new head coach will have the opportunity to evaluate all facets of the team, including the quarterback. However, “the hope is to find a candidate who believes in Tagovailoa and can bring out his full potential”, which would be a breath of fresh air for a Tua who had to put up with a very good part of 2020. avalanche of speculation that placed the QB Deshaun Watson, of the Texans, as the new quarterback of the Dolphins.
Tua finished this season with 263 of 388 completions for 2,653 yards, 16 TDs and 10 INTs, having led the team to six wins in the last seven games he started, but once again they fell short. postseason and the former Alabama raises a lot of doubts about whether or not he is the franchise quarterback that Miami expected when they selected him as a first-round pick in 2020. However, everything indicates that he will have at least one more season to prove his worth to the Dolphins.
Finally, although it is still very early and there is no clear candidate to take over the head coaching position in Miami, these are the applicants that the team has requested to interview so far:
- Thomas Brown, Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach
- Brian Daboll, offensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills
- Leslie Frazier, defensive coordinator for the Buffalo Bills
- Vance Joseph, defensive coordinator for the Arizona Cardinals
- Mike McDaniel, offensive coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers
- Kellen Moore, offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys
- Dan Quinn, defensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys
Who should be the new Dolphins head coach for the 2022 NFL Season? Should Tua Tagovailoa remain as the starting quarterback?
The #Dolphins embark on their search for a head coach with the expectation that Tua Tagovailoa is their starter for 2022 — and the plan to build around and support him.
