NFL: The 49ers get into the NFC final after their fourth win over the Packers

Lyou San Francisco 49ers defeated for the fourth time in a row in playoff duels at Green Bay Packers with a score of 13-10 and advanced to the finals of the NFL NFC.

Aaron Rodgers, aged 38 years, it has never been able to beat San Francisco in a playoff matchup. They failed in the 2012 divisional matchup, in the 2013 wild-card round, in the 2019 NFC championship game and now in the divisional stage.

The 49ers will dispute the NFC title against the winner of the Rams and the Buccaners who play this Sunday. San Francisco suffered with the wind chill of up to minus 17 degrees below zero that was presented in the duel held at the Packers’ home, Lambeau Field, located in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

His receivers didn’t complete any of the passes sent by quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo during the first quarter. at the end of the game Garoppolo passed for 131 yards, one interception and was caught four times. Rodgers had 225 yards and was sacked five times. Green Bay displayed the NFC’s best-team hierarchy in its first series that culminated in Arjel Dillion’s rushing touchdown to take a seven-point lead.

The Packers kept dragging San Francisco’s defense, the third-best in the NFL, on their second series until Marcedes Lewis fumbled the ball to Dre Greenlaw. The pressure on the San Francisco quarterback again took effect in his next offensive when he had a chance to tie inside the opponent’s 20-yard line, Garoppolo rushed in search of his receiver and was intercepted. An error by the visitor that did not go up on the scoreboard because Green Bay’s field goal attempt was blocked before the break.

At third quarter the 49ers reached the local 20-yard line again, but a couple of penalties deprived them of reaching the end zone and they had to add a field goal to close 7-3. The worst thing for Kyle Shanahan’s team was that his star receiver Deebo Samuel, fifth best in the league with 1,405 yards, received a blow to the ribs, which limited him the rest of the duel.

In the fourth quarter the Packers extended the lead with only a 10-3 field goal, thanks to San Francisco’s defensive line tackling Rodgers when he threatened to add another touchdown for his team.

The inability to gain a yard on fourth down of the 49ers offense inside the rival 21-yard line made up for it when they blocked a kick that Talanoa Hufanga recovered, who took the ball to the end zone and made it 10-10. The Packers were forced to kick after Rodgers had his fifth sack and in the last offense Garoppolo managed to put kicker Robbie Gould away, who with four seconds on the clock scored the winning field goal; 13-10.
