NFL: unvaccinated players will no longer be tested for COVID-19 unless they have symptoms

As another playoff weekend approaches, the NFL and the Players Association announced on Friday that unvaccinated players will no longer be required to undergo daily COVID-19 screening tests.

The measure thus extends to all players since the protocol already implied that vaccinated players and coaches did not need to follow such a measure. Thus, only those who experience symptoms will now be tested.

The new directive affects a low rate of individuals in the NFL since 95% of players are vaccinated. With only eight teams still in the playoff roster, around 12 unvaccinated players are targeted, according to reports. ESPN. Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is one of them.

The Packers will face the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday night.
